From my brain.....

A relatively unknown sublime grape
Meet the Zesty Star of Southern France: Cave de l’Ormarine Duc de Morny Picpoul de Pinet
If you’re on the hunt for a crisp, refreshing white that screams summer in a glass, let us introduce you to Cave de l’Ormarine Duc de Morny Picpoul de Pinet — a wine as fun to drink as it is to say (go on, give it a go!).
Hailing from the sun-drenched Languedoc region in southern France, this wine shines in the glass with a pale yellow hue and luminous green highlights — just the visual cue you need to know you’re in for something vibrant and fresh.
From the first swirl, the nose is generous and inviting, bursting with intense exotic fruit aromas — think juicy mango and ripe melon—followed by the zing of candied citrus zest. Take a sip, and you’re met with a beautifully balanced, rounded palate, where those tropical notes are brightened by a distinct crispness that’s a hallmark of the Picpoul de Pinet terroir.
But wait—there’s a story here!
Picpoul grapes are famously juicy and sweet, and it turns out the local chickens had impeccable taste. In the early days, they would sneak into the vineyards and feast on the grapes, ignoring their feed entirely! Needless to say, the winemakers had to outwit the feathered gourmets to keep enough grapes on the vines. (We think the wine is better for it.)
The flavour profile?
Expect a refreshing mix of apple, pear, green apple, lemon, lime, and a saline minerality that reminds you of sea breezes. There’s also a whisper of honey in the background, giving it just the right touch of softness.
Whether you’re pairing it with seafood, sipping it by the beach, or just dreaming of a Mediterranean escape, Duc de Morny Picpoul de Pinet is an easy-going white that brings a splash of sunshine to your glass.
Cheers to wine with character, crunch — and just enough chicken drama. 🐔🍇🍷
